Yes. Respecting Arrernte language and culture is incredibly important to us. Throughout the development of Yaye, our products, branding and use of Arrernte language have been shared with Arrernte Elders for guidance and feedback. As my husband Anthony and our children are Arrernte, we are proud to honour and celebrate their language and culture through Yaye with the support and encouragement of our family and community.
We are located in Garramilla (Larrakia language for Darwin) Northern Territory, Australia.
At Yaye, preserving and celebrating First Nations languages is an important part of who we are. To help share our language respectfully, we've recorded the correct pronunciation of the bush medicine names featured in our products.
You can listen to the recordings here.
Giving back is at the heart of everything we do at Yaye. We are passionate about celebrating and preserving First Nations language, culture and knowledge through our products, storytelling and education.
We proudly support the Yipirinya School, a bilingual First Nations school in Alice Springs, and encourage our customers to support their important work. We also work with Indigenous enterprises wherever possible and are committed to creating opportunities that celebrate Aboriginal culture and support Indigenous communities.
Every Yaye purchase helps us continue sharing the stories, language and beauty of Central Australia's bush medicine traditions with Australia and the world.
Yaye's bush medicine extracts are ethically sourced using a sustainable cellular extraction process that preserves the beneficial compounds found in native Australian plants.
We work with trusted Australian suppliers who follow environmentally responsible manufacturing practices and source premium-quality raw materials from organic growers and wild harvesters, where appropriate, in collaboration with Indigenous enterprises.
